Summer Daze

It was a warm day today. This morning I slaughterd about 70 e-mails, and took Jeanie, one of the Jack Russells, for a walk. Then it was back to work, working on Book 10 in the Jack Russell: Dog Detective series, which we will be turning in to the publisher shortly. This evening, Preacher got a walk. (Having dogs means having exercise!)
Reading.
I've just finished reading "Blood Sinister" by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles, and embarked on "Wicked Lovely" by Melissa Marr. I've also been audio-reading "Comeback", a Doctor Who tie-in and am now onto "Point Blanc" by Anthony Horowitz. I like audiobooks, because I can read them while walking. Much as I love reading paper or e-books, I usually feel guilty because I should be working. However, I defy anyone to write or assess manuscripts while walking a likely Jack Russell (or two).

It's that time of year again, Sally:-( I've just been reading Juliet Marillier's post over at Writer Unboxed (http://writerunboxed.com/2008/01/03/a-new-broom/) in which she - and a reader who is a physio - remins us of a writer's occupational hazard - a serious lack of fitness.

Oh dear, I can see I'm going to have to either get a dog or go to Yoga more regularly. Seeing as I live in a flat so can't have pets and hate walking in any case it will have to be the latter. Remind me, will you? Guilt is the only thing that will get me exercising.

Yes, Satima... get movin'! I make a serious effort to keep fit. It has saved me LOTS of money and pain.
